University of Birmingham announces launch of five new diabetes studies
Rosetrees Trust have funded one of five new projects, launched today, at University of Birmingham, that are aimed at prevention, treatment and management of type 1 diabetes.
The Rosetrees funded project is led by Dr Alex Wadley and is aimed at understanding how exercise can directly slow down the progression of type 1 diabetes. Dr Wadley’s approach uses a remotely monitored home-based exercise programme and will assess effects of this exercise on patients’ immune system.
