    Richard Ross CBE - Chairman

    Richard is the son of Nat and Teresa Rosenbaum, who founded Rosetrees. He qualified as a chartered accountant having gained a degree in economics at LSE after which he joined Regentsmead, the family business and is now the chairman. Richard was awarded a CBE in 2021 in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for (Rosetrees) services to philanthropy and medical research during COVID-19R. He was also awarded the Spear’s Philanthropist of the Year Award in 2011.

    Ann Berger - Chief Executive

    Ann joined Rosetrees as Director of Development in 2017 and took on the role of Chief Executive in 2018. Before joining Rosetrees, Ann spent many years in the finance sector and more recently led a joint initiative for Macmillan and Citizens Advice to provide financial advice for cancer patients. Ann also runs a family trust funding medical research.

    Dr. Vineeth Rajkumar - Head of Research

    Vineeth joined Rosetrees in 2017. Prior to that, he worked at UCL specialising in cancer biology and imaging. He is responsible for grant triage and supports the review process and the impact evaluation of Rosetrees-funded research.

    Dr. Megan Sealey-Bright - Research & Communications Officer

    Megan joined Rosetrees in 2021. Before joining Rosetrees, Megan worked in neurodegenerative research at Oxford and Southampton. Her main roles at Rosetrees include supporting the review process and project impact evaluation.

    Ingrida Tverijoniene - Operations Assistant

    Ingrida trained as a nurse and is an integral part of the operations team at Rosetrees. She is responsible for organising all the peer reviews for new applications which is the foundation of our selection process and she arranges our personal meetings with researchers.

    Richard Miller - Operations Manager

    Richard has a background in computing and information management, designing data systems and reporting. As the Operations Manager at Rosetrees, he oversees grant and budget management at Rosetrees and provides analysis of all Rosetrees activities.

    Suzy Bloom - Administrator

    Suzy joined the team in 2005 originally working for the finance director and provides administration and accountancy support for the whole team.

  • Bryan

    Bryan Thal – Project Manager

    Bryan joined Rosetrees in 2023 as project manager and IT consultant. He has experience built up over 35 years of managing software development projects in senior roles at software engineering consultancies and at a number of Banks, including UBS and Barclays.

    Robert Mesnick

    Robert joined Regentsmead, the family business in 1987 and is now the chief financial officer. Robert was appointed a trustee of Rosetrees in 2010 and leads the investment committee.

  • Debbie-Fox-Bio-(B&W)

    Debbie Fox

    Debbie has had 20-year experience in the Not for Profit sector, spanning trustee and professional roles within a number of social care charities. She was Vice-Chair of Jewish Care, trustee of the mental health charity, Jami and is currently Vice-Chair of the Jewish Leadership Council & Chair of its division, Lead.

    Debbie is the Executive Director of Behind Every Kick, a registered charity promoting social mobility and employment prospects for young Londoners.

    She trained and qualified as a solicitor at Herbert Smith Freehills, spending over a decade post qualification as a Senior Lecturer and later a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Law.

    Hayley Katz

    Hayley is an intellectual property solicitor who has over twenty years of experience working for both Warner Bros. Entertainment and J.K. Rowling at The Blair Partnership, as well as more recently putting together fundraising commercial partnerships for The Lumos Foundation charity.

    Professor Jane A Mitchell

    Professor Jane A Mitchell is Head of the Cardiovascular Division, NHLI, Imperial College. She is also Director of Imperial College’s British Heart Foundation Doctoral Training Program.

    Professor Mitchell has had a distinguished career and worked with several Nobel laureates in the UK and US. She worked on the pharmacology of anti-inflammatory drugs, such as aspirin and ibuprofen, before joining Imperial College London.  Professor Mitchell has received numerous prestigious grants and been awarded many prizes for scientific excellence and for her achievements in mentoring and post graduate teaching.

    She is a highly cited scientist, with more than 250 publications attracting over 32,000 citations, and was recently elected as an Honorary Fellow of the British Pharmacology Society.

    Mark Stewart

    Mark Stewart has had a highly successful career in the financial services industry for over 30 years. He has been an Equity Partner and Main Partner at R Watson & Sons and leader of their Financial Services Group in the UK.

    After retiring from the firm in 2014, Mark was appointed to the Independent Governance Committee of Scottish Widows Plc and subsequently became chair of the Committee.

    He has also been a mentor with the Social Mobility Foundation, a charity supporting the further education and workplace development of youngsters from less privileged backgrounds.

    Nick Caine

    Nick has had a long career in the financial markets as a thought leader and pioneer of new technology adoption transforming legacy business operations. He has performed many roles, from front office real-time trading and back-office development to senior global IT management, chief technical architect and CTO.

    Nick has deep experience working with the global trading, investment banking and operations departments for Swiss Bank, UBS, RBS, TP/ICAP, HSBC and Nomura International. He is based in the UK and has also lived in Switzerland and Japan.

    Most recently, Nick led the Chief Architecture function at Nomura in Tokyo, defining and overseeing the cloud strategy and approach to digital transformation of Nomura’s wholesale and group technology.

    Jamaria Kong

    Jamaria is a Managing Director at TowerBrook Capital Partners and a Non-Executive Director of Azzurri Group. She brings with her experience in digital growth, AI and data, innovation, business building and finance. She is also a qualified accountant (ACCA). Jamaria is passionate about biomedical science and is on track to complete her Postgraduate Certificate in Structural Molecular Biology from Birkbeck College, University of London. Alongside with her trusteeship at Rosetrees, she is on the Audit & Risk committee at The Biochemical Society.

  • Andrew Trustee

    Andrew Edwards

    Andrew has worked in the financial services sector for 25 years and is currently Managing Director, Head of Debt Solutions Group within the Corporate and Institutional Banking division of Lloyds Banking Group and a member of the Corporate and Institutional Banking executive team.  Before his current role, he spent 5 years in Risk, originally as Chief Risk Officer for Commercial Banking and later as Chief Operating and Risk Science Officer, having joined Lloyds Commercial Banking division in 2012.  Before Lloyds Andrew spent 10 years at Barclays in a range of commercial, treasury and risk roles.  He holds an MSc in Economics and Econometrics from the University of Southampton.
