Rosetrees at 35 and Richard Ross at 80 celebration!
More than 300 of the country’s top academics and doctors attended a party at the RSM to celebrate 35 year of Rosetrees funding of medical research and the 80th birthday of its chairman, Richard Ross CBE.
Guests were treated to video clips from researchers highlighting how Rosetrees has been pivotal to their success, followed by presentations by Professor Molly Stevens and Professor Charles Swanton on their cutting edge research (much of which has been funded by Rosetrees).
A Desert Island Discs-style interview with Richard Ross, hosted by Professor Geraint Rees, featuring a selection of his favourite music (from Rolling Stones to Ella Fitzgerald) and how it related to his life and career. A highly entertaining evening was topped off by Professor Benny Chain climbing on stage to provide piano accompaniment to a rousing rendition of Climb Every Mountain by Rosetrees’ very own Sheree Oxenham.
