We’re delighted to share that Rosetrees funded Professor Charles Swanton, has been awarded the European Association for Cancer Research’s 2026 Mike Price Gold Medal Award — a prestigious honour recognising senior scientists who have made exceptional contributions to cancer research across Europe.

This follows another major achievement: last month, Charlie was elected to the U.S. National Academy of Medicine, recognising his pioneering work in tumour evolution and translational cancer research.

Professor Swanton will receive the Mike Price Gold Medal Award award and deliver the Keynote Award Lecture at EACR 2026 in Budapest next June.

From leading landmark studies such as TRACERx, TRACERx EVO and the PEACE autopsy program to transforming our understanding of tumour evolution, Charlie has made an extraordinary impact on the field. This award is a well-deserved recognition of his scientific leadership, clinical excellence, and tireless commitment to improving outcomes for people with cancer.
