Cells from tumour centres are more likely to be metastatic than those in other parts of a tumour, according to a study of 756 kidney tumour biopsies by Rosetrees-funded scientists at UCL (Dr Kevin Litchfield) and the Francis Crick Institute (Professor Charles Swanton and Dr Samra Turajlic). Published in Nature Ecology and Evolution, this significant discovery could pave the way for new treatments that can block cancer cell migration.
